M and J Mining’s story began in 1986 with the establishment of M and J Mining and Marketing Consultants, founded to serve the South African mining industry with specialised technical support solutions. From the outset, the business focused on practical innovation, safety, and close collaboration with mine operators—principles that continue to define the company today.
Over the following decades, the company steadily built a strong reputation in underground support systems, particularly in the design, manufacture, and application ofpre-stressed cable anchors. Continuous innovation and hands-on underground experience enabled M and J to respond to evolving safety standards and operational demands in the mining sector.
In 2012, the business transitioned to M and J Mining (Pty) Ltd, marking a significant milestone with the attainment of BBBEE status and the formalisation of a new ownership structure. This transition strengthened the company’s market position and reinforced its long-term commitment to transformation, sustainability, and growth in South Africa’s mining industry. Kuseni Dlamini joined the business as a director and co-owner at this time, further enhancing leadership capacity and strategic direction.
